Free Bitflows is a part of the exStream project

exStream is a two-year collaborative project in which five european media art organisations (Hull Time Based Arts, V2_, Bootlab, interSpace Media Art Center, Public Netbase / t0 ), are working together through the exchange of organisational, artistic and technological resources to create a common platform for the creation and distribution of new media art projects.

Why exStream?

exStream was conceived as a platform for European experts, artists and engineers, working with and developing creative open source software solutions, specifically in the area of streaming media, to come together to share knowledge and technical expertise through workshops, seminars and residencies in order to encourage new local experiences and collaborations on a trans-European level.

exStream Residencies

Each of the exStream partners organised intensive residencies lasting between 4 and 6 weeks. This enabled groups of artists and software developers to work together to develop concrete art projects that will assist the artist's plans for new technologies based artistic production and dissemination.
