# Rick Prelinger (US)

Biography

Prelinger is a CD ROM developer, media archaeologist, and film scholar. Prelinger is famous for his collection of advertisements and instructional films from the 1930s, '40s and '50s, which he has single-handedly preserved. The Prelinger Archives currently host 1,902 titles online, which were recently acquired by the Library of Congress. Prelinger is also a strong advocate for the concept of fair use, and has testified before congressional committees on the subject.
