The "platform for experimental computing" (XDV - which in the beginning stood for the german "experimentelle Datenverarbeitung") in Vienna has become a creative powerhouse for electronic music and video over the last three years. Brought together by the work with computers understood and used as (re-)programmable tools, it is home to bands like EPY or musicians and designers like PURE or DJ glow. The strong programming background of many of the members lets them develop contributions to a new linux-distribution for multimedia as well as software for the House of Music in Vienna - if they're not touring with EPY across Europe to venues like the "St. Pauli Ballroom" in Hamburg, the "Sound-War-Festival" in Berlin or the Diagonale Filmfestival in Graz.
